Students invited to apply for BankWest college scholarships; Application deadline is Feb. 2

For more than 130 years, BankWest has remained committed to reinvesting in the communities, businesses and people it serves. In keeping with this core value, the bank will award $31,500 in college scholarships this spring.

The bank announced that 21 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and undergraduate college students for the 2024-25 academic year. The $1,500 scholarships may be used to fund tuition at any accredited, post-secondary educational institution. Community service, personal character and academic integrity are the three primary areas of consideration during the selection process.

To apply for a 2024 BankWest Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a BankWest deposit account holder for a minimum of six months preceding the application deadline.
  • Be a United States citizen.
  • Be a high school senior or full-time undergraduate student currently attending an accredited post high school educational institution.
  • Have not previously received a BankWest Scholarship.

The application deadline is Friday, Feb. 2, 2024. Online applications may be found at: www.bankwest-sd.bank and hard copies will be available at all BankWest branch locations. Scholarship finalists will be invited to BankWest’s corporate office in Pierre for a personal interview on March 11 or 12, 2024. Awards will be announced in April. Students who are not currently BankWest deposit account holders are invited to visit any BankWest branch and discuss opening an account and/or eligibility for next year’s scholarship program.

Hey i am Arif
I have a love for wildlife and in particular birds as they are so easy to get a close look at. I love to talk about birds, research them, go birding, birdwatch in my backyard and keep a few as pets. I wanted to share this love of birds with everyone so you can also appreciate these fascinating creatures.

I attend bird walks and talks whenever I get the chance so that I can learn more from the experts. There is always something new to learn or see with birding.

After studying a natural sciences degree I then entered the corporate world working for online travel companies. We now live in a forest and near a beach and I have not looked back since. You can usually find me out paddleboarding or kayaking or hiking through the forest, always with some binoculars!

I am here to help you find all the information you need about bird identification, birding tips, backyard bird watching, bird facts with guides, and free printables.
