Apple TV+ Launches On Prime Video In The U.S.

Amazon on Wednesday announced that the Apple TV+ streaming service will be coming to Prime Video channels as an add-on subscription for $9.99 per month in the U.S. later this month.

Prime members who subscribe to Apple TV+ via Prime Video will have access to premium popular shows, including Severance, Slow Horses, The Morning Show, Presumed Innocent, Shrinking, Hijack, Loot, and Palm Royale.

They will also have access to international hit films such as Wolfs, The Instigators, and more, as well as Major League Soccer and Major League Baseball sporting events.

This arrangement of bringing Apple TV+ into Prime Video is part of Amazon’s broader strategy to offer multiple entertainment options it can for its subscribers into one convenient platform, as well as enhance accessibility and user experience for customers of both services.

“Prime Video is a first-stop entertainment destination offering a wide selection of premium programming including Amazon MGM Studios Originals, live sports, licensed movies and series, the industry’s largest catalog of titles to rent or buy, and over 100 additional streaming subscriptions,” said Mike Hopkins, Senior Vice President and Head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.

“As we continue to expand our offering and make it easy for customers to personalize their streaming experience directly in one app, we are proud to welcome Apple TV+ and its popular and critically-acclaimed shows, films and events to Prime Video.”

Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of Services said, “We want to make Apple TV+ and its award-winning library of series and films from the world’s greatest storytellers available to as many viewers as possible. We’re thrilled that Prime Video will now offer Apple TV+, giving viewers an incredible breadth of viewing options.”

Just like Apple TV+, Prime Video has a collection of more than 100 add-on subscription options in the U.S., which include Warner Bros.

Discovery’s Max, Sony’s Crunchyroll, Paramount Global’s Paramount+, and Amazon-owned MGM+.

These add-ons allow Prime Video users to enjoy various content, including movies, TV shows, documentaries, and foreign films across various platforms using the Prime Video app.

Although Apple’s library of original content is relatively limited, it has managed to garner impressive recognition, with its Original films, documentaries, and series earning 516 wins and 2,308 award nominations to date.

This includes multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy Ted Lasso and historic Oscar Best Picture winner CODA.

Apple TV+ through Prime Video will cost $9.99 per month, which is the same as a direct subscription from Apple.

Once it becomes available later this month, Prime members can subscribe to Apple TV+ with no extra apps to download beyond Prime Video and no cable required.

Users can cancel their subscriptions at any time.
